On October 22, 2008, the demolition of Caruthersville High School began. After the Kick-off ceremony which was held on the front lawn of CHS, citizens watched as the demolition started on the gym. Kevin Williams and Gary Dornin continued their work after the cermony and into the evening hours. The pictures in our video will give you the opportunity to share our mixed emotions: alumni are sad to see their high school and historic building torn down but very excited that FINALLY our students will have a new high school!

Some of the decorative stones will be saved to be used on the front of the new high school. Below are pictures of the beginning of a new era for CHS. Students who are members of the sophomore class will graduate in our new high school.
