Happy Holidays!
Caruthersville High School Institutes Athletic Hall of Fame During the October school board meeting, the Caruthersville Board of Education and Superintendent Mr. Brad Gerling unanimously approved the proposal put forth by the Varsity "C" Club to institute an Athletic Hall of Fame. "I think an athletics hall of fame is a great idea. There are many great athletes, teams, and coaches that have graced the halls of our school, and this will be a great way to honor them. Giving Tiger alumni an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments while exposing current student-athletes to those who came before them is a win-win for the school and community." - Mr. Jimmy Lyons, Board President The CHS Varsity "C" Club laid out a draft that included locations, framework, qualifications, and the selection process. The selection process will require a nomination on a provided nomination form to be submitted to the Hall of Fame Committee. Once submitted to the Hall of Fame Committee, they will confirm that the nomination meets the qualifications and vote for the nominee to be inducted. "I am delighted to be able to recognize the past, present, and future athletes who have contributed to the legacy of Caruthersville athletics. The formation of the Caruthersville High School Athletic Hall of Fame will undoubtedly highlight the long-standing tradition of excellence demonstrated by our outstanding student- athletes." - Mr. Brad Gerling, Superintendent The Hall of Fame Committee will start accepting nominations on January 14, 2024, and will continue to do so until February 28, 2024. Nomination forms and qualifications will be released before January 14th. The inaugural Hall of Fame Class will be announced during the end-of-the-year sports awards ceremony.

Ms. Ditzler's 7th graders are learning about the central and peripheral nervous systems and learned about neurons and how they send messages to and from the brain. They had to model a neuron and make a stop motion animation of a neuron with the impulse going from the dendrites, down the axon and to the synapse
